We will be visiting around 700 homes between now and the festive season
More than 400 members of staff from the North West housing association plus dane group, including the chief executive and chairman, will be visiting customers to advise them how to stay warm and safe in their homes this winter.
Gas fitters, accountants, electricians, housing managers, plumbers and administration staff will be among those joining them in dropping into hundreds of homes across the area. They will be handing out gift packs containing useful items such as thermos flasks, blankets and tea and coffee.
As well as this, a series of events will be held across the region, where local people can find out more - including handy hints on how to save money on their fuel bills, their health, and energy conservation. The events are open to all, and plus dane customers will also be sent a handy booklet full of tips and advice.
Ken Perry, Chief Executive, said: "We undertook a similar initiative last year as a pilot programme. Since then, we have been working closely with customers and key partners such as the Merseyside and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services, local Primary Care Trusts to develop this year’s Beat the Chill campaign.
"Together, we have devised a really useful booklet which outlines how to save money on energy bills, to increase your income to pay bills and stay warm and healthy throughout the winter, along with how to avoid fire risks in the home. We will be visiting around 700 homes between now and the festive season as well as hosting a number of open events not only for our tenants but also for other residents."
